The Cougars could not rally to overcome a 1-0 deficit against the visiting Tacoma Tide. Tacoma struck in the 35th minute when midfielder David Machael sent a through ball behind the Cougars' defense to forward Spencer Schomaker, who slid the ball into the back of the net.

The Cougars valiantly pushed to equalize the game with 15 total shots, but were unable to successfully penetrate the Tide's defense.

"This is a disappointing loss for us," said BYU head coach Chris Watkins. "We have a lot of work to do before we hit the field again next week against Ogden."

The Cougars will take on the Ogden Outlaws on June 17th at 7:00 p.m. at Ogden.
