Cougars announce Scoreboard Sports partnership

 

PROVO, Utah—The BYU men’s soccer team is pleased to announce their partnership with Scoreboard Sports for the 2015-2016 season.

 

“Working with Scoreboard Sports will be a great addition for both our program and our players,” BYU head coach Brandon Gilliam said. “I have known the owner and regional manager for years.  Our program will be well taking care of and the players will look great this year."

BYU BEGINS TRYOUTS FOR 2016 SQUAD

Over 100 male students began the process to become a member of the BYU men’s soccer team and compete in the PDL

 

PROVO, UTAH (Oct. 12, 2015) —Over 100 students began the process to become a member of the BYU men’s soccer team Monday evening.

Tryouts for the 2015/2016 BYU Men’s Soccer Team will be held on October 12th and run through October 16th.  The Tryouts will be held at Haws Field and will run from 7pm to 9pm each evening.  This tryout will be open to all Current BYU Students or those who have applied for Winter Semester at BYU.  An additional Tryout will be held for High School Seniors during the Winter.

PROVO, Utah—BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY announced today that Brandon Gilliam will be hired as the next head coach of the BYU Men’s Soccer Team.

"I have been part of BYU men's soccer for 13 years,” said Gilliam. “I have seen it transition from a club team to a semi-professional program, and I have seen it produce some of the most amazing men I have ever known.”

Monarchs to play BYU Wednesday

The BYU men’s soccer team will host the Real Monarchs at South Field on Wednesday for their final game of the season. 

“It’s really exciting to play the Monarchs,” said Chris Watkins, head coach of the BYU Cougars. “For our fans who don’t know, this is like the BYU men’s baseball team playing the Salt Lake Bees. We’re excited to close out our season with this game.”

Cougars Preparing for the Big Weeks Ahead

The Cougars will be traveling to Colorado to face Real Colorado May 8th and 9th in Premier Development League (PDL) play. They will then return to South Field May 13th for the home opener.

BYU Announced as Participant in Lamar Hunt US Open Cup

BYU Men's Soccer team has been selected as a participant for the 102nd Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. We are one of 19 PDL teams to be selected for the tournament. All 19 PDL teams will enter the competition in the first round, set to be played on May 13. The winners will advance for a chance to face USL PRO opposition in the second round, to be played the follow week on May 20. The 2015 tournament will feature 91 teams, an increase from the 80 that competed last year, marking the largest field in the modern era (1995-present) and the fourth consecutive year where a record has been set.
